Catarina graduated in the School of Medicine of Lisbon where she obtained her medical degree in 2004. In 2006 she started her Cardiology residency at Hospital Pulido Valente. Her training included a rotation in the Intensive Care Unit, at Saint Thomas’ Hospital and at the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit at Royal Brompton Hospital, in London. She is also an invited assistant at Faculty of Medicine of the Universidade de Lisboa. She is currently undertaking a PhD programme in Cardiovascular Sciences at the School of Medicine of Lisbon.

Since 2015 has been responsible for processing of adverse events notifications from clinical trials. She attended the Pharmacovigilance   Course for Health Professionals in 2017, at the University of Aveiro. She has also been active in pharmacovigilance training of several professionals.
